Our history
Established in 2003, JHJ and Associates swiftly gained recognition by securing prestigious contracts with prominent federal agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of the Army, and the General Services Administration. Under the leadership of Founder and President Justin H. Jackson, the company expanded through strategic acquisitions, notably Quality Touch Services marked a key milestone, leading to the rebranding of JHJ and Associates into JHJ Facilities. This expansion allowed the firm to broaden its reach, not only continuing its work with government clients but also extending its services to educational institutions, non-profits, and healthcare facilities. Particularly in Washington, D.C., JHJ Facilities became a trusted partner for public charter schools, higher education institutions, and prominent non-profit organizations, solidifying its foothold in these vital sectors.
By 2018 the company further transformed into Arkatype Contractors LLC, rebranding itself under the umbrella of Arkatype Group. As a minority-owned firm certified by Virginia SWaM (Small Women-Owned and Minority-Owned business), MWAA (Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority), and DBE/MBE (Disadvantage Business Enterprise and Minority Business Enterprise), Arkatype solidified its role as a key player in the facilities management and construction service sectors.
